The Best Way to Survive, Blood Harvest Campaign, in Left 4 Dead
The Farmhouse Finale:
As you come up the trail you will see a large cornfield. Take a moment to pause and heal up and make sure your team
sticks together. Usually before entering the cornfield you will battle either a horde, tank or witch. Once everyone is
ready head down into the field. Follow the the sprinkler system until you reach the tractor then jump over the tractors
front end and run straight until you arrive at the next sprinkler system, jump over that and then jump over the fence
and run into the farmhouse. It is easy to get lost in the cornfield and separated from your team from hunters and
smokers but if you follow these simple instructions you can make it to the farmhouse quick and easy with limited
damage.
Once you are in the farmhouse gather supplies. In the living room you will find a radio calling out messages. (DO Not
touch this yet) Instead search for ammo, heal up again, and look upstairs for pills and bombs.
When everyone is ready head outside to the big red barn. (Yes you heard me, go outside...I know how tempting that little
bathroom upstairs can be but don't be stupid and just keep reading this tut okies)
Clear the house, outside and barn of all infected then go upstairs in the red barn. This is where the survivors will
face the final battle for this round if you want to live, (Not inside the farmhouse! Can't stress this enough) Look
around the upstairs of the barn you will find an ammo supply so you will always be close to it and able to refill your
guns without having to run through hordes of infected to get it. Refill your guns and reheal if needed and make sure
others on your team do the same.
In the barn loft you will see a huge square window. (DO NOT worry about this window) No zombies can get through that
window and by covering that area you will just be taking away ammo from the spots where it is needed which are the ledge
where the ladder is and the hole in the side of the roof.
Have two people crouch and cover the hole on the side of the roof and two people cover the ledge where the ladder is.
The two people covering the ladder ledge will see wooden beams that look like a good spot to camp and snipe for zombies
but don't be a dumbass. If you go out onto the beams then you WILL get pulled off and someone will have to come save
your sorry ass and lose health or die. So yea...just stay away from the crossbeams..its a bad idea.
Ok now that you are set up one sucker is going to have to leave the loft and run back inside to start the radio. But
don't be scared boys as long as you have followed the steps in this guide no zombies will getcha until after you start
the radio (which you have to push twice btw) But even then you have plenty of time to run back up into the barn loft
before the first horde comes charging in.
Alright so you started the radio and ran for your life and have safely made it into the loft again but you hear the
cries of the angry undead coming to eat your brains. Get ready because there will be hundreds of them. Remember, two
crouch and cover the hole in the side of the roof and two crouch and cover the ledge and ladder. As long as the final
four hold their positions and don't go onto the beams or cover the big square window you will be fine.
*REMEMBER to melee attack and push them back and reload at the same time!!**
Yay, first wave is over but you aren't out of the water yet. Quickly assess the damage. If you need health, take it and
be sure to grab ammo which thankfully to smart planning is right with you and you don't need to leave the loft to
refill. After the first horde is destroyed you now have a new enemy to face, the tank.
Mr.Cranky will come up either a. the ladder side or b. the side with the hole in the roof. Stay in the loft while you
fight him. I know it is tempting to flee and run outside but DON'T! Because after he is dead another horde will come
soon after and if you are too far away from the barn and someone needs to revive you. Both you and your buddy will not
be able to make it back into the loft easily which means all your careful planning is ruined. In order to survive this
round the group needs to stick together and work as a team. Each player must do there part.
As mentioned above after the first tank is done, another horde will follow. So get ammo, health, and return to your
positions. Two crouched at ladder and two at the hole. After the second horde is defeated you will face another tank so
heal up again, pop your pills and grab more ammo and stay inside.
Once the last tank is destroyed go through the hole on the roof and stand on the roof until the truck comes which again
due to smart strategy and planning ends up being right outside the barn. Be careful though you still need to make it
into the truck which isn't as easy as you might think. Once the truck arrives, a final horde and tank will show up.
Don't fight them...just RUN. Run run as fast as you can and get into the truck. Only fight if you need to defend
yourself on your way to the truck.
I can't say how many times I have seen people get this far only to be fooled into thinking they can be a hero. Just get
into the truck and safety. By this point your health will be almost gone due to fighting off masses of zombies and two
tanks prior. So why risk all your hard work and have to repeat it again due to idiocy. As long as everyone follows the
steps in this guide you can easily beat this level on the first time. Enjoy!
So Main Reason for Red Barn over Farmhouse are:
* Ammo supply is only a few feet away, unlike the farmhouse where you have to run downstairs and risk getting separated
from your group during battle
* Only two entry points into the barn loft, unlike in the farmhouse where you have to cover the stairs..and three
bedrooms.
* When the truck comes it parks right outside the barn, unlike in the house you have to run downstairs and all the way
around the house to reach the truck and by that time the final wave of zombies and tank are already on you.
