A1: Unfortunately you can't control him while's you're playing but you can press triangle to bring him out of the goal or if you're willing to, you can controll him in training mode

A2: You press the shoot button but not full power but almost to full power and make sure you get a good look of the post before kicking it. Also, you can kick the ball straight hard by holding down L2 and pressing the shoot button.
