The libary reading area is right by the griffindor common room on the left, go out of the common room and just walk up to each of the doors that are in the room, then one of the doors should come up with a subtitle that says reading room :)

At least three that I know of if you come out of the portrait from the common room and go to the right the is a bookase you can crawl into and it will take you down to the fourth floor. there is a taperstry on the second floor that you can cut down if you go in there at night watch out for the fire breathing toads. also on the fourth floor the is a bookcase that you can crawl under.

Once you get the treat out of the chest on the other side of the room, go around past the ladder to a owl post that is lit up and shining, and then press "call hedwig" which should be X, then give hedwig the treat and she should put the ladder down for you. :)

You eat hedwig and then go into Azkhaban by apparation. You then find Hermione in the common room and Avada Kedavra her

You go to the treasure chest and search it. You will find some owl treats. Then do to the other side of the room and find the owl stand. Hedwig will appear and you then feed him. He fly away and lower a ladder on the other side of the room. Climb it. Then jump from cabinet to cabinet until you reach the cabinet with the book on it.

RUWBefore you can find the portrait, you need to skillfully creep by a ton of patrolling prefects. The bookcases scattered around the room form a mini-maze which you need to navigate through without betraying your presence. Begin by running forward and stick to the nearby bookcase. Go up the screen and to the right. Then lean against bookcase before continuing to the next segment. Wait until the blue prefect here strolls up toward the shelves with his back turned and sneak past him. After passing one aisle, stick behind the last shelf and wait about 3 seconds before moving on. Run to the bottom and flatten against the small wall at the edge of the screen.
As the purple prefect walks up, tip-toe behind him and retreat into the annex on the right. Stay there, unmoving, and wait until the prefect starts walking back. Dart past him and head up and around. You're home free! The portrait is just around the corner. If you haven't noticed already, the prefects are practically blind, so as long as your blurry figure doesn't whisk past the corner of their eye, they won't see you (unless you're in their direct line of sight).
After some extreme tactical espionage action, you will finally end up in the Restricted Section. A Cauldron Cake and Pumpkin Pastry can be found in the chests on the ground floor. Now climb the ladder up to the second floor. Don't worry about the flapping books. These are friendly for now. Flatten against the wall and shuffle across the ultra-thin pathway to the other side. Along the way, you want to watch out for those books which insert themselves in the shelves. You should pause briefly and make sure they're out of the way before you start moving again, because they can come out again at any time and potentially make you lose your balance. When you reach the other side, you can reach into the chest there and pull out a Cauldron Cake. Continue climbing to the top until you arrive in front of a door.
In the chests and cabinets nearby, you will find a surplus of Cauldron Cakes and Pumpkin Pastries. Follow the path to another door to officially enter a forbidden area of Hogwarts, the Restricted Section! Here, you will find those annoyingly dangerous enchanted books, so zap them with Flipendo as they come. On the right side of this circular area is a chest which contains an Owl Treat for Hedwig. Take it to the other side where you'll find Hedwig's perch. Call Hedwig and feed her favorite snack. To return the favor she flies out back to the other side and shoves a ladder down to ground level. It lands near the collection of green moss, so head over there.
Climb up to the top of the bookcase and hug the wall and shimmy across to the two chests to the left. Inside them you find the usual curative goodies that builds strong bones and brings cavities. Shimmy back to the first bookcase and auto-jump across to the hanging ledge, then to the other book case on the opposite side. On the other side, shuffle across to the other two chests, then Diffindo the hanging tapestry to bring it down. Now make a daring leap across the gap. Harry barely makes it, but manages to get a firm hold and pulls himself up. Head straight to the tapestry on the opposite end and Diffindo that one too. Leap across to the top of the bookshelf, and then to the final one, where a bookstand is with the book lying on top of it. Strange how a book can be found ATOP a shelf. Pick up Hogwarts: A History and scram!
Get off and enter the door between the portaits. On path is blocked by solidifed green goo, so the only other option is to go left and to face a malicious, living?bookcase? At first, it seems invulnerable to every type of attack. However, it slowly receives damage and heals itself simultaneously! Basically, all you need to do is keep him targeted and casting Flipendo to make it stumble backward. Then dodge away when you see an oncoming book. A nicely charged Flipendo spell is best. Keep at it and eventually the murderous bookcase will fall back. You then discover that it was possessed by two spirits who like to jest. Oh, haha.
After the frightful fight, grab hold of the crate nearby and push/pull it along the tiles to the farthest bookcase, so you could use the crate to boost you up atop the bookcase. This portion involves a lot of bookcase-hopping. The only problem is that an enchanted book comes between the bookcase you're on and the next. A solution is to Flipendo the flying book. When you do, it falters, then falls to the floor but finds the strength to flap right back up. Before then, however, you have ample time to hop to the next bookcase.
On some bookcases, those creepy ghosts will send chills down your spine, so avoid them at all costs. They weave around all the bookcases, annoying you and making scary noises. Hop across the tops of the bookcases to the high veranda, where another spell book awaits you. Claim it to learn a spell called Skurge that removes filthy residue left by ghosts which we have come to know as Ectoplasm. With it, you can now clear up the slimy green substance blocking doors and passageways.
You can test your new spell on that green substance nearby. Leave this area and go to clean up the Ectoplasm by the ladder, then head through the doors. Eventually you arrive in an area where there are Ectoplasm all around. Removing each causes a ghost to pop out and lunge at you. Be prepared to dart to the side to avoid them. Your only exit is reinforced with a bajillion locks (ok, four), so you need to find a way to open them all up. Head in to each of the four rooms and use your spells to overcome each obstacle. Hidden in every room is a wall panel, which upon being pushed retracts each lock.
To your dismay, it seems you must duel a Slytherin member and win before you can leave. This duel isn't any different from the last one against Malfoy. You can easily win him by firing repeated Flipendo spells while avoiding his deflected spells and his own Flipendo spells. After his fall, head through the heavy door and continue on until you come to an area where you must move around another crate. Pull yourself to each balcony and rid the passage of the Ectoplasm. Behind all the goo is a wall switch with the Flipendo insignia engraved on it. Naturally, this means that you must use the Flipendo spell on it. Activating the switches will unlock the door at the bottom. Squeeze in the crawling space, and you will emerge from a painting in the Library Annex. From here, just make your way back to Hermione in the Gryffindor common room.
After Hermione summarizes a chapter from the book, head off to bed to get some rest. You need it.
