Q: How to defeat the guards without setting off the alarm in the castle?

Q: I'm at the part where the prince, susan and lucy are on the horses. I kill the first 2 guys and take the horses. I jump over the tree and kill the next 2 guys put I cant seem to jump over the creek . I've tried and tried again yet the damn horse just wont go. Can someone PLEASE help me, its getting very frustrating. Im using a PS3 if it makes any difference?

A1: Make a running start toward the creek and push circle.
