What you would want to do is put pikemen armies all around your border. Then lay low after a while. Talk to the ruler to delcare peace. Then advance your technology. After that, finish the study of atomic power. Then declare war! All you have to do is send the nukes. -

My best tactic is (on Cheiftain anyway) is to develop the Mathematics technology as fast as you can (look at the Tech chart by pressing Y). It will tell you what path you should take in order to do it as fast as possible. Then, build catapults in all of your cities, nothing else. Send them ALL to the "front" (city closest to your major enemy(s)). Make armies, and then decimate. Repeat as needed until the modern age.

:
If it's in modern times attack it with air while having a fleet of battleships helping, then fifnish it off with an army of tanks (careful against the aztecs, they heal after every victory)
A4
:
Use a battleship fleet to support your attack, it offers an extra 27 points in attack. And use bombers to soften up the defenders and your best bet for ground attack would be artillary. Artillary only has a 2 move per turn limit, so you need to be carefull because your units will be vulnerable just outside of the enemy city. If possible have barracks built, and even try to get multiple wins with a unit against some weaker barbarians or something. Keep up the attack eventually you'll wear them down.

I Normally Get Catapults Cannons Etc And Develope A Few Armies Of Thos Then Throw It All At Them
A6
:
Bring a stronger army
A7
:
Make an army that is even stronger. You can get extra bonuses for units with naval support, fundamentalism(I think that's what it's called),the samuri wonder, and the various combat upgrades. Make sure at the very least your attacking with veterins.
A8
:
The best way to take out a very strong unit is to
1) Use Artillery
2) Attack from a Hill +50%
3) Use a good bonus like “Infiltration” +50% against city (best way is to have a Great Leader and a barracks)
4) Have a Great General in the stack of units
5) Have Naval support from a fleet (3 naval units)
6) Use Spies to reduce fortifications (requires 2 or more successful tries)
OR Go around their defenses by building a city nearby and buy all of the cultural buildings (this takes a lot of cash, but may take less time than getting the great general, etc.)
If that fails, use the ICBM, but then there’s nothing left of the city to capture.
A9
:
Build armies of your own. If you're in Medevil times build 2 armies of archers, catapults, and knights. (If you're in modern or ancient substitute as nescessary.) Then attack. First with the catapults to soften them up then go in with the heavier attack. You should be able to win.
P.S. If the opposing army is farther ahead on the tech tree, just try to make peace and dig your troops in.
A10
:
Get a tank army, get it upgraded with infiltration, march and then get a battle ship fleet and go get'm, oh start with the germans this way it's easier

:
CRUSH under sheer numbers. this guy block me while I was on A Pennensuila and I had tanks in the 1700s and crushed him and rolled over the others.
