Every time I try and complete the hour glass puzzle, it automatically kills me. Is there a special trick to it?

A1:

This is a nasty puzzle, and you should expect to have to try three or four times before you get it, even when you know how. And you only get three tries before Nancy meets a horrible death, so you'll want to save your game before you even start. Read all the way to the end of this hint for a step-by-step.
First, take the key resting against the Humilidad hourglass. Does that look familiar?
El Toro drew a picture of it on page 7 of his journal. He says, "What a blessing it would be for the sands of time to run out for all at the exact same time." That tells you your goal here --
-- to get all the hourglasses to run out at exactly the same time. That's going to be difficult, since they all have different amounts of sand in them and run at different speeds.
El Toro has given you another clue on page 7. Did you notice that some of the letters on this page are darker than others?
If you pull them out, they are H, G, C, P, T, C, and D. This tells you the order you need to turn the hourglasses --
-- Humilidad, Generosidad, Castidad, Paciencia, Templanza, Caridad, and Diligencia. Okay, well, that's some help.
But if you flip the hourglasses in that order, you'll find that's not quite enough, since some of them still run out faster than others. Clearly a little finesse is required here.
One way to figure this out is to flip the hourglasses one at a time with a stopwatch in hand to see exactly how long each one takes to run out. If you don't have a stopwatch, don't panic I've done it for you.

Hourglass Times

Humilidad - 27 seconds
Generosidad - 25 seconds
Castidad - 20 seconds
Paciencia - 15 seconds
Templanza - 11 seconds
Caridad - 6 seconds
Diligencia - 2 seconds

Now to put it all together. The easiest way I've found to get all the hourglasses turned at exactly the right time is to count them off. You can do this either by counting the seconds backwards from 27 and flip each hourglass as its turn comes (that is, Humilidad at 27, Generosidad at 25, and so on) --
-- or if, like me, counting backwards sometimes messes with your head, you can count forwards, like this:

Hourglass Counting

1 second - Humilidad
3 seconds - Generosidad
8 seconds - Castidad
13 seconds - Paciencia
17 seconds - Templanza
22 seconds - Caridad
26 seconds - Diligencia

As I said, this will take a couple of tries before it works out well enough to open the door here, partly because you'll be guessing at the length of a second. Try saying "one Mississippi, two Mississippi" or some other counting trick if that slows you down too much, try "one thousand, two thousand" or similar.
When you get it exactly right, the hourglass wall moves, and there's the treasure!

How do you fill the batteries on the cart to 100ml?

You fill only 4 batteries so remember each cylinder is 60ml so if you have 4 batteries open that means its 60 devided by 4 ,if only 3 batteries is open you devide by 3 which will be 20, you have only 2 batteries open it will be 30

A2:

Middle left has 45, middle right has 15, bottom left has 25 and bottom right has 15 mls.

1. Open all 4 bottom switches turning the switches to green. Press a white-blue button on dispenser to dispense 15 mls to each of the 4 batteries and get: 60, 30, 40, 30.

2. Close the bottom left (40 ml) battery. Press a blue white-button on dispenser to dispense 20 mls to each of the 3 batteries and get: 80, 50, 40, 50.

3. Repeat - With bottom left (40 ml) battery closed, press a white-blue button to dispense 20 mls to each of the 3 batteries and get: 100, 70, 40, 70.

4. Close middle left (100 ml) battery. Press white-blue button to dispense 30 to each of the 2 right batteries to get: 100, 100, 40, 100.

5. Close middle right and bottom right (100 mls) and open bottom left (40 mls). Press a white-blue button to dispense 60 mls to last of the 3 batteries and get: 100, 100, 100, 100. That should do it.

1. Open all 6 switches by turning them to point to green. Press a white-blue button to dispense 10 mls to all 6 batteries and get 25, 50, 70, 65, 65 and 85.

2. Close the switches of top right and middle left. Press a white-blue button to dispense 15 mls to top left, middle right, bottom left and bottom right to get: 40, 50, 70, 80, 80, 100.

3. Open top right, middle right and bottom left all others are closed. Press a white-blue button to dispense 20 ml and get 40, 70, 70, 100, 100, 100.

4. Open top right and middle left all others are closed. Press white-blue button to dispense 30 mls and get 40, 100, 100, 100, 100, 100.

5. Open top left and close all other. Press white-blue button to dispense 60 mls and get 100 mls on all. That should do it.
